LEMON-AIDS

Biography
Lemon-Aids are a two-piece loop-rock, theatrical & leftfield hip-hop band. The duo is composed of Julian Harmel: guitarist, song composer and loop-pedal-wizard. Julian’s elegant musicality is paired with the zany chemistry of rapper NOT THA ONE as frontman vocalist, songwriter, MicroKorg sorcerer + multi- handheld percussionist. Essentially a jam band with songs built into the jams.
These threatening lemons grew in East Vancouver, Canada during the beginnings of Covid. They currently exist as a long distance collaborative entity. Squeezing energetic jams and morphing genres at the tip of a paper cup, Lemon-Aids exist roughly somewhere between Led Zeppelin “No Quarter”, Wu-Tang, War on Drugs and early Company Flow and Rage Against The Machine with a touch of Beach Boys. Further notes: big guitar solos + rap/monologues + recovery related influences and experiences + Canadiana + intricate lyrical bars + tragicomical humour + strong rhythm + big stage dramaturgy.

Album: An album for us will be like.. revisiting some stuff we made in the garage in Vancouver and a bunch of new long-distance mind-bending loop-rap compositions; maybe some live recordings revisited and tool’d. Big garage feels to the fullest.
