TOPICS were formed in 2014 as an experiment that begun as a facebook chat between friends. Fournier and Tyler joked together through typed messages about “boys” and the things that boys and bros do in a very generalized way. This discussion lead to several conversations about various other topics and shared fascinations, most prominently anxiety. Through some initial recording and writing sessions, a creative partnership emerged – one that would explore the artists’ collective stream of consciousness in the spirit of the creative act.
